Instructional Technology
Currently, the University offers two course management tools, WebCT and JUMP. To learn more about developing your academic courses using these tools, contact Computer Training at 474-8125.
If you prefer to author your web pages outside of a course management tool, support and instruction are available for both official and personal pages. For web publishing, contact Computer Training at 474-9178.

Labs & Facilities
The IST computer labs are open to all UofM students and staff for drop-in use. Wireless hotspots can also be found on campus.
Bookable teaching labs are located in the Microcomputer Centre, 331 University Centre. The Centre has two 24-seat PC teaching labs that can be booked by instructors. No charge for daytime internal use. Limited bookings can be arranged in the other IST computer labs. Contact Computer Training at 474-8213.
Software
Instructional software is available to students and staff in the IST computer labs.
Site licenced software such as:
- SAS
- SPSS
- Matlab
- Zoomtext
are available from the IST Support Desk located in 010 Dafoe Tunnel. Contact 474-8600 or email support@umanitoba.ca
Requests to install or purchase instructional software are considered three times a year. To make instructional software or assignments available in the IST computer labs, contact Software License Administrator at 474-9475.
Free anti-virus software along with web browsers, email programs and other utility software can be directly downloaded from Software Express
Electronic Mailing Lists
To request an electronic mailing list on the Mailman server for your course or project, contact Nick Donaldson at 474-8649.
