Application
Forms:
Students
wishing to study at the undergraduate level at the Faculty of Music
must complete the following steps:

Fill
out University of Manitoba application form and submit to Faculty
of Music - see below for the link to the online form or to download
the paper application.

Submit
a separate application to the Faculty of Music, including a
personal essay, and two teacher recommendations. Click
here for the latest application.

Audition.
Once you have submitted your application to the Faculty of Music,
you will be contacted in order to set up an audition time.
Auditions for the 08/09 academic year will be held February
18-23, 2008. If you are applying from out-of-region, you
may, with permission, apply via high-quality audio and visual
recording. Note: please
click here for jazz audition requirements.

Take
a written assessment, demonstrating competency in basic music
theory. Click
here for sample theory assessment.
In
the past, students have been most successful in the audition and
written assessment when they have achieved a level of musicianship
comparable to Conservatory Canada or Royal Conservatory ratings
of:
Grade 8 for piano or strings
Grade 7 for voice and winds
Grade 6 for organ
