Accountability

Thank you for visiting the accountability page on the University of Manitoba website. As an institution which relies on public and private sector support, including the generous gifts of our donors, it is imperative that accountability be a guiding principle in the way we conduct our affairs. It’s a responsibility we take very seriously.

To that end, we aim to provide clear and detailed information, comparative where possible, about our achievements and progress. Our efforts in this regard include the information you’ll see on this page as well as a detailed Annual Report, an open annual meeting of the Board of Governors and the variety of information and statistics we make available on the web and through a variety of publications throughout the year. All of these initiatives have earned praise from objective accountability researchers.

In the accountability section of the website, you’ll find information about the University of Manitoba including details on our faculty, our research, our finances and our involvement with the community. You will also find information about our students – their profile, their success rates and the learning environment they work in.

I welcome your interest in these pages and encourage you to use the information contained within to gauge for yourself how well the University of Manitoba fulfills its mandate to affirm its position as one of Canada’s leading research-intensive universities.

If you require additional information, links to a number of different sources – including the annual IS Book from the Office of Institutional Analysis – are also provided.
