Family Medicine

The Family Medicine Program at the University of Manitoba is a pathway to a flexible and rewarding profession in medicine.

From advanced patient care training to world class professors in our classrooms, our program is devoted to developing and providing the knowledge, skills and values which allow our students to become great Family Doctors and making a true difference in the community.

Here, students experience active undergraduate and postgraduate programs and can further their medical knowledge through extended training programs in emergency medicine, research and geriatrics.

Our program is accredited by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and strives to teach whole-person medicine through a combination of patient-centred care and structured seminars.

Students are also able to choose between rural and urban training sites in community and tertiary care hospitals.  These options provide a broad balanced experience that prepare our residents to be well-rounded family physicians who can practice with confidence in either setting anywhere in the world.

Become one of the next doctors.  Become one of the best doctors.  Study Family Medicine at the University of Manitoba.
