DIRECTIONS

SKPO = slip, knit, pass slipped stitch over

Note: While the directions for Bob call for knitting in the round up to the sleeves, you can work it in two pieces if desired. Increase the number of cast-on stitches by 4, and divide by two to give you the appropriate number to cast on for the front and back. Make increases and decreases at the ends of rows instead of near the markers.

Body
CO 160[170,180,190] sts; do not turn.
Place marker.
Bring sts onto tip of left needle and, being careful not to twist the stitches, begin rnd. *K3 p2* 16[17, 18, 19] times and place second marker.
*k3,p2* 16[17, 18, 19] times to first marker.
Work in established rib pattern for 12 rows.
K 4 rnds.
Decrease Round [dec rnd]:
K3, k2tog, k to 5 sts before next marker, SKPO, k6, k2tog, k to 5 sts before next marker, SKPO, k3.
Repeat dec rnd every 6th rnd to 148[158,168,178] sts, then every 4th round to 136[146,156,166] sts.
K 10 rnds even.
Increase Round [inc rnd]:
K3, m1, k to last 3 stst before next marker, m1, k6, m1, k to last 3 sts before next market, m1, k3.
Repeat inc rnd every 4th rnd to 148[158,168,178] sts, then every 6th rnd to 160[170,180,190] sts.
K to 13.5[14,14.5,15] inches.

Front
BO 3 sts, k to next marker and turn, leaving rem sts on a stitch holder [or on the back of the circular needle]. BO 3 sts, p to end of row -- 74[79, 84, 89] sts.

Shape Raglan
Row 1 [RS]: p3, [k3,p2] to last 3 sts, p3.
Row 2 [WS]: work sts as they appear. Row 3 [RS]: p3, k2, SKPO, work in rib patt to last 7 sts, k2tog, k2, p3.

Work the last 2 rows until 24[29, 34, 39] sts remain, ending with a p row. Work 6[6, 8, 8] more rows in rib, then bind off in patt.

Back
Rejoin yarn to right side of remaining sts.
BO 3 sts at beg of first 2 rows.
Repeat raglan shaping to match front.

Sleeve [make 2 the same]
CO 51[56, 61, 66] sts.
K2, [p2,k3] to last 4 sts, p2, k2.
Work in patt for 2 inches, ending with a p row.

Shape Raglan
Keeping in patt, BO 3 sts at the beg of next 2 rows.
P1, k2, SKPO, patt to last 5 sts, k2tog, k2, p1.
Repeat the previous row every 4th row to 25[30,35,40] sts and then every other row to 15[20, 25, 30] sts, ending with a p row.
Work 6[6, 8, 8] more rows in patt and BO all.

FINISHING

Sew sleeve and raglan seams using a mattress stitch.
[Note that the pattern will then even out by losing 1 stitch on each side of the seam.]
