Lisa Souza yarn

Light and airy for spring, these stretchy anklets are knit on two circular needles and employ a simple lace motif from Knitting on the Edge by Nicky Epstein.

The Eye of Partridge heel flap echoes the peaked shape of the lace motif.

PATTERN NOTES

[Knitty's list of standard abbreviations and techniques can be found here]

The ball band on Lisa Souza Superwash Sport Weight Merino suggests a gauge of 6 sts = 1 inch, worked on US #5 or #6 (3.75 or 4mm) needles. For these socks, it is worked at a tighter gauge, yielding a firmer fabric.

There is enough yarn in one 4 oz skein of this yarn to knit these socks with 6-inch cuffs; if knitted with 4.5-inch cuffs as written, there will be yarn left over. If you choose to substitute another yarn, approx. 285yd/260m should be sufficient for the socks as written.

This pattern is worked on 2 circular needles. If you prefer to use double-point needles, be sure to divide the stitches between needles in multiples of 6.

If you plan to increase or decrease the circumference of these socks by casting on more or fewer stitches, be sure the number of stitches you use is a multiple of 6. At the gauge listed, one 6-stitch pattern repeat is approximately 0.75 inch wide.

SK2P: Slip the next stitch, knit 2 together, pass the slipped stitch over the stitch just worked.
