Tangy

"It was pleasant to wake up in Florence, to open the eyes upon a bright bare room, with a floor of red tiles which look clean though they are not . . . It was pleasant, too, to fling wide the windows, pinching fingers in unfamiliar fastenings, to lean out into sunshine with beautiful hills and trees and marble churches opposite, and, close below, the Arno, gurgling against the embankment of the road."

In E.M. Forester’s A Room with a View, Miss Lucy Honeychurch travels to Florence, and despite the vexing interference of her dismal cousin Charlotte, manages by the end of the story to find adventure and true love.

Like the original Miss Honeychurch, this hemp sweater looks more delicate than it really is. The yarn can be machine washed and thrown in the dryer and it only gets softer and more comfortable to wear--perfect for a trip to Italy or just as a pick-me-up after a rainy spring. It is worked in one piece from the top down, with lovely textures, unexpected side cables and quirky picot edging. The three-quarter-length sleeves add a playful touch and the swingy A-line shape is flattering on many figures.
