We are pleased to announce that our distinguished colleague and LR/RL editorial committee member, Prof. Lisa Block de Behar (University of Montevideo) has recently been awarded a Humboldt Research Award.

The Humboldt Research Awards offered by the German “Alexander von Humboldt” Foundation honour outstanding and internationally recognized scholars of all disciplines and nationalities who reside outside of Germany.

The award represents a tribute to the lifelong academic accomplishments of the winners. Furthermore, award winners are invited to carry out research projects of their own choice in Germany in cooperation with German specialists for periods of between six months and one year.

After nearly thirty years of existence the Humboldt Research Award is regarded as the most important German awarding program for internationally renowned scientists. Over 30 Humboldt-Awardees where also awarded the Nobel Prize.
