Established in 1983, LR/RL comes out twice a year in c. 270, 5.5x8 in. pages per issue. It publishes more than 50 articles, review articles and book reviews, in English, French and occasionally, Spanish and Italian. The “Forum” section includes lively exchanges between internationally acclaimed comparatists. The journal publishes texts on the intellectual and political status of the discipline, and on the relations between comparative literature and its neighboring fields such as critical theory, philosophy, semiotics, cultural studies, feminism, postcolonialism, translation theory, cultural anthropology, visual arts, political theory, religious studies, film studies, etc. A large group of liaison officers from various countries on five continents enables the prompt reflection of some of the most significant collections and single-authored books of comparative literature published in the world.
