Projects by UELAC Dominion and Branches

The Mission and Objectives of the UELAC demand that we work to preserve and promote our Canadian history, with a particular focus on the Loyalist timefame of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Loyalist heritage takes many forms from actual buildings of the time to family histories, genealogies, stories, military records, monuments, artifacts, correspondence and so much more.

As the UELAC Dominion as a whole represents all Loyalists and Branches, some projects which are universal or national in scope are undertaken by Dominion. In other cases smaller projects with narrower scope, perhaps to assist another but related heritage organization, may be initiated by UELAC, one of the executive members or a committee.

Some of the Dominion projects are described here.

Many loyalist heritage projects are local in nature, from a recording of local loyalists to restoring a cemetery or memorial, from creating a new loyalist marker to marking loyalist cemeteries. Such projects are typically undertaken by a branch local to the initiative. Some funding is available from Dominion to assist with such qualifying endeavours.
