Here is a video clip of the history of the UFO movement. It is interesting to see how disinformation, the "honest lie" of Adamski, intended to "stop nuclear testing on earth", soon degenerates into attempts to create artificial value for "space souvenirs".
The original "UFO movement" was, in part, started by people who wanted to "Ban the Bomb" ...did it fail due to lack of integrity (honesty)? Can an "honest lie" be used effectively as "civil disobedience" against those in power with the "big lies"? Is honest really the best policy? I think in terms of being honest with oneself it is, but then can a person be honest and generate disinformation for a "higher good"? I think that probably every religion started out as an "honest lie" against a tyrannical government, but was soon corrupted by those who wanted to sell "souvenirs" instead :
