Christine Janis received her undergraduate degree (B.A.,
Natural Science) from the University of Cambridge, and her Ph.D from Harvard
University. She joined the faculty of Brown University in 1983. Her research
interests related to ungulate functional morphology (feeding and locomotion),
and the correlation between anatomy and behaviour, which can then be used to
determine the probable behaviour of extinct taxa. More recently her work has
focused on the structure of ungulate palaeocommunities, how changes over time
reflect climatic and environmental changes, and how these palaeocommunities can
then be used as palaeoenvironmental proxies. |
