Phillip Huber is a consulting geologist, owner of Geo Science Books,
Inc., in Faribault, Minnesota, and a member of the Triassic-Jurassic Working
Group at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University. His primary
areas of research are lithostratigraphy, sedimentology and various chronologies
of the nonmarine Triassic-Jurassic Newark Supergroup of eastern North America
and Chinle and Glen Canyon Groups of the western United States, where he has
spent the past 25 years engaged in field studies. He also has interests in the
systematic paleontology of certain groups of late Paleozoic and Mesozoic
invertebrate and vertebrate trace fossils, Coleoptera, fishes, and certain
tetrapod groups. Additional areas of research include studies of fossil
lagerstatten, mass-extinction and faunal turnover events and mechanisms, and the
construction and calibration of global chronologies and correlation webs for the
early Mesozoic.
