Roger Frattigiani, born in 1963, grew up in Italy and
Germany. His interest in fossils already rose during his earliest youth. In
Handewitt, close to Flensburg, Germany, he found his first fossil, a sea urchin.
After his secondary modern school qualification, he did an apprenticeship as
technician for heating and sanitary facilities and spent four years at the navy
in Kiel, Germany. Later he moved to Laichingen, Germany, and is now working as
facility manager of a school. Close to this place is the famous Holzmaden
lagerstätte and Roger’s old interest in fossils rekindled. After holidays in the
Altmühltal, where the Solnhofen lagerstätte had been discovered, he finally
confessed himself being fond of lithographic limestones. Since this time Roger
collects fossil crustaceans and has already accumulated a really huge
collection, which he likes to lend out for scientific investigations. |
