Zhe-Xi
Luo is a Curator of Vertebrate Paleontology and the Associate Director
of Research and Collections at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History
(Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA). He received his B.Sc. degree in Geology
from Nanjing University (Nanjing, China, 1982) and Ph.D. in paleontology
from University of California at Berkeley (1989). He received
postdoctoral training at Harvard University (Cambridge, Massachusetts,
USA). His research concentrates on the early mammalian evolution, and
the fossil vertebrate faunas of the Mesozoic. He also studied fossil
whales of the Cenozoic. His recent work focuses on patterns of
diversification of Mesozoic mammals and their implications for mammalian
evolution. Luo has worked on many fossil sites of China, in
collaboration with many Chinese paleontologists.
