In 2007, Ingmar Werneburg finished his Diploma on the jaw
musculature of Beloniformes (Teleostei) at the Institut für Spezielle Zoologie
und Evolutionsbiologie mit Phyletischem Museum der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität
Jena / Germany (advisors: Dr. S.T. Hertwig, Prof. Dr. M.S. Fischer, referee:
Prof. Dr. L. Olsson).
From 2007 to 2010, he made his PhD on the organogenesis and cranial musculature
of turtles at Paläontologisches Institut und Museum der Universität Zürich /
Switzerland (advisor: Prof. Dr. M.R. Sánchez-Villagra, referees: Dr. T.M.
Scheyer, Prof. Dr. S. Kuratani, Prof. Dr. L. Olsson). In 2011, he was a Postdoc
at RIKEN Center of Developmental Biology in Kobe / Japan (lab of Prof. Dr. S.
Kuratani).
Ingmar is interested in 1. ontogenetic and phylogenetic
patterns of soft and hard tissues in vertebrates, 2. timing and variation in
vertebrate embryogenesis, 3. interaction of functional and phylogenetic aspects
in the vertebrate head, 4. phylogeny of Amniota and Teleostei.
