Oyvind Hammer, born 1968, has an M.Sc. in mathematical modelling from the University of Oslo, Norway. He has worked for a number of years at NoTAM, University of Oslo, as a researcher and teacher in computer music. He is now a Ph.D. student in paleontology at the Museum of Paleontology in Oslo, working on computer models for the growth and morphogenesis of a number of fossil invertebrates. His main interests are developmental biology, paleobiology, artificial life and contemporary music.
