Freely inspired by Perreault's tale, this brilliant opera by Rossini has the musical inspiration comparable to the very famous Il Barbiere di Siviglia by the same composer. A lively, breathtaking tone, uplifting duos and ensembles, all this delivered with the usual panache of the talented singers of l'Atelier lyrique de l'OpÈra de MontrÈal. Costumes and piano accompaniment are by Claude Webster from Jeunesses Musicales du Canada and l'Atelier lyrique de l'OpÈra de MontrÈal.
