Brian Bartlett was born in New Brunswick in 1953, lived in Montreal from 1975-90, and has since lived in Halifax, where he teaches creative writing and literature at Saint Mary's University. His more recent publications include two personal essays in Brick, an interview with Dennis Lee, and the introduction to Thinking and Singing: Poetry and the Practice of Philosophy (ed. Tim Lilburn). He has also completed editing Don McKay: Essays on His Works for Guernica Editions. For many years he has worked on Living with Poetry, a collection of essays, journals, introductions, columns, tributes, and other prose pieces about poetry. In 2003 his Wanting the Day: Selected Poems was published by Peterloo Poets in Cornwall, England and Goose Lane Editions in Canada.
