Katherine Mary Bitney

Kate Bitney was born in England, grew up in Saskatchewan, and has lived in Winnipeg since 1971. She is a founder of the Manitoba Writers Guild and of the literary journal Prairie Fire. Her teaching experience includes numerous writing workshops, three years as a mentor in the Manitoba Writers Guild Mentor Programme, and a stint as writerinresidence at the Winnipeg Public Library. Selections from her work were broadcast on CBC Radio Arts Encounters. She currently studies Religion at the University of Manitoba.
