Suzanne Collins

Suzanne Collins was born in 1934 and raised in Iowa. She received a Ph.D in English in 1969 from the University of Iowa. Her first poems were published in 1979, and over the next twenty years, she wrote and published sporadically, as well as teaching part-time in Humanities and Creative writing at York University. In 2003 her first book of poems was published. She draws and paints watercolours and has exhibited at two galleries in Toronto. She is a member of the Phoebe-Walmer Writing Collective.

York University CYSF and Canadian Woman Studies Literary Contest, shared 2nd prize, 1983.
Eden Mills Literary Festival Contest, Finalist (among top 10), 1991.
