Susan Glickman
Susan Glickman grew up in Montreal, and travelled widely before
settling in Toronto where she worked first in publishing
then in academia. These days, she teaches at the Lycee Francais de
Toronto. She is married to glass artist Toan Klein; they have two young
children and one old house.
Glickman is the author of four books of poetry from Signal Editions of
Vehicule Press; her fifth, Running in Prospect Cemetery: New &
Selected
Poems, is due out out in the spring of 2004. She won both the
Gabrielle Roy and the Raymond Klibansky prizes for her critical study, The
Picturesque & the Sublime: A Poetics of the Canadian Landscape.
She is also working on a couple of novels for adults and some picture
books and
poetry for children
Awards
1998 Prix Gabrielle Roy from the Association for Canadian and Quebec
Literatures for the year's best work in English literary criticism.
1999 Raymond Klibansky Prize from the Social Sciences and Humanities
Federation of Canada for the year's best English language work in the
Humanities.
