Terrie Hamazaki
Terrie Hamazaki has written for the page and the stage. Her signature poem, "Furusato (Birth Place)" appears in "Mom: Candid Memoirs by Lesbians About the First Woman in Their Lives" (Ed. Nisa Donnelly, Alyson Publications, Los Angeles, CA: 1998).
She has written, performed and produced one-act plays for the Vancouver Fringe and Women in View Performing Arts Festivals and her writing has appeared in numerous publications, including the "Hot & Bothered" series (Ed. Karen X. Tulchinsky, Arsenal Pulp Press, Vancouver, BC, 1998-2003.); "The Fed Anthology" (Ed. Susan Musgrave, Anvil Press, Vancouver, BC, 2003); and the feminist newspaper, "Kinesis" (published by the Vancouver Status of Women). She also works at a battered women's shelter and facilitates workshops on healthy queer relationships and anti-oppression awareness. She is currently working on her first novel as a member of the Simon Fraser University Writers Studio programme.
