Laurence Hutchman

Laurence Hutchman was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He received his doctorate from the Université de Montreal in 1989. His dissertation was on the poetry of Margaret Avison, Al Purdy, and John Newlove. He was the co-editor of Coastlines: The Poetry of Atlantic Canada. From 2000-2002 he was president of the Writers’ Federation of New Brunswick. In addition to his poetry, he has published numerous reviews and interviews with Canadian poets. He teaches Canadian Literature at the Université de Moncton in Edmundston.
