Sue MacLeod

Sue MacLeod was born in Kingston, Ontario in 1955, and now lives in Halifax with her teenage daughter. She works part-time as a Library Assistant in the Halifax Regional Library.

The League of Canadian Poets National Poetry Contest, second prize 2000, third prize, 1994.
Kalamalka Poetry Competition, tied for fourth place, 1995.
Milton Acorn People's Poetry Award, finalist, 1997.
Hawthornden International Writing Fellowship, 1997.
Arc's Poem of the Year contest, First Prize, 2000
Inaugural Poet laureate of Halifax, 2001 - 2005.
