Classroom Approach:
McLeod specializes in children's readings from Conversations With Maria, ad workshops in poetry, and he has a special interest in Native culture and concerns. For the Grade School level, he gives the workshop ëFun With Words', which explores the comic aspects of developing poetic ideas through word games and seeking special uses of language. For High School students, his workshop ëSpolin's Improvisations' encourages character, plot and scene development through the use of "Second City" improvisational techniques. Although not completely necessary, materials can be forwarded in advance, upon request, to help prepare students.
