Daniel David Moses

Poet and playwright, Daniel David Moses was born in 1952. He is a Delaware from the Six Nations lands on the Grand River in southern Ontario. He holds an Honours B.A. from York University and an M.F.A. from the University of British Columbia. He writes full-time and works with the Native and cross-cultural arts communities in Toronto.

Governor General's Award for Drama, finalist, 1991.
Canadian National Playwrighting Competition, one act category, first prize, 1990.
New Play Centre, one act playwrighting competition, winner, 1994.
James Buller Memorial Award for Excellence in Aboriginal Theatre, Centre for Indigenous Theatre, 1996.

Classroom Approach:
Moses can do a reading from his own works and/or discuss his writing process, the work of his Native contemporaries or related Native cultural topics or lead a creative writing workshop with an emphasis on dramatic ideas, on the oral tradition or on the student's work.
