Barbara Pelman

BARBARA PELMAN has taught in colleges, alternative schools, universities, and high schools, and is presently teaching at Reynolds School in Victoria, B.C. Born in Vancouver, B.C. she received her MA at the University of Toronto and lived in London England for a few years before returning to B.C. She has had poems accepted in Event magazine, Quills Literary Magazine, Dalhousie Review, Iambs&Trochees, Wordworks, and Antigonish Review. Her glosa, "After Winter" won first prize in the B.C. Federation of Writers Literary Writes Contest, 2003, and another glosa, "Shadow of Joy" was a finalist in the Mocambopo Poetry Contest 2004. Her poems have appeared in the anthologies: Dinner Party, and Letters We Never Sent, by Leaf Press, Cycles by Quay Words Press, and Breathless and Coming Home by Calliope Press.

Her first book of poetry, One Stone, published by Ekstasis Editions, will be available in Spring 2005.
