Adam Sol

Adam Sol is a native of Connecticut who has been living in Toronto since 1998. He has earned degrees at Tufts University and Indiana University, and in 2000 received his Ph.D. in English from the University of Cincinnati. His first book of poetry, Jonah's Promise, was published in 2000 by MidList Press of Minneapolis after being selected for their First Series Book Award from over 400 applicants.  His second book, Crowd of Sounds, will be published by House of Anansi Press in Spring 2003.  He has published poems in numerous literary journals in the United States and Canada, including The Kenyon Review, The Malahat Review, Fiddlehead, and Prairie Schooner. He is also the recent recipient of a Canada Council Grant for Writers. Dr. Sol has published reviews and criticism in a variety of venues, including the Quill and Quire, Indiana Review, and Antigonish Review. He has also lectured widely on Jewish American literature, particularly on the period before the Second World War. He is married to Yael Splansky, the Associate Rabbi of Holy Blossom Temple in Toronto. They have a new son, Avishai.
