Getting Here

London is nestled in the heart of Southwestern Ontario, just a two hour drive from Toronto, to the east, and two hours from the Windsor-Detroit border to the west.

Western University is located in the north end of the City, just 20 minutes from the London International Airport and 10 minutes from the bus and train stations which are both situated in downtown London.

The majority of the WILU conference will be held in the University Community Centre and The D.B. Weldon Library.  Accommodations on campus are available in Ontario Hall (please see our Accommodations page for more information).

Driving Directions

From East (Toronto)

Travel Highway 401 West to London.  Exit #189, Highbury Avenue North through the city.  Turn left (i.e. west) at Oxford Street (a few minutes north of Dundas). 

To enter the East Gates (Richmond St. Gates):  Turn north (right) at Richmond Street and continue travelling north to the set of lights at the University Gates.  Turn west (left) through the gates onto University Drive.  A Welcome Centre is located just inside the gates.                     

To enter the West Gates (Lambton Dr. Gates): Continue west on Oxford Drive past Richmond Street.  Turn north (right) on Wharncliffe Road - this road will turn into Western Road.  Turn east (right) through the gates at Lambton Drive.  A Welcome Centre is located just inside the gates.

From West (Windsor)

Travel Highway 401 East to London.  Exit #183, Highway 402.  Take the Exit to Wonderland Road North to the north end of the city.  Turn right (east) on Oxford Street (a few minutes north of Riverside Drive).

To enter the West Gates: Turn left (north) on Wharncliffe Road - this road will turn into Western Road.  Turn east (right) through the gates at Lambton Drive.  A Welcome Centre is located just inside the gates.

To enter the East Gates: Continue east on Oxford Street past Wharncliffe Road.  Turn left (north) at Richmond Street and continue travelling north to the set of lights at the University Gates.  Turn left (west) through the gates on to University Drive.  A Welcome Centre is located just inside the gates.

From North

Travel Highway 4 south past Fanshawe Park Road where it becomes Richmond Street.

To enter the East Gates: Follow Richmond Street south until University Drive.  Turn right (west) through the University Gates where you will see a Welcome Centre.

To enter the West Gates: Follow Richmond Street south until Western Road which forks from Richmond.  Turn left (east) at Lambton Road through the University Gates where you will see a Welcome Centre.  

Parking

For those staying in on campus in Ontario Hall and for individuals planning on driving to campus, free parking will be available in the Althouse lot, as space permits.
