11 January 2012: The January 2012 issue of Ygdrasil is now available. With this issue we enter our 20th year of publication.

2 December 2011: The December issue of Ygdrasil, featuring the Selected Poems of Francesca Castaño
is now available.

12 November 2011: The November issue of Ygdrasil is now available.

16 October 2011: The October issue of Ygdrasil, Selected Works in Translation 
by Jorge Etcheverry is now available.

15 September 2011: We have added a link to a promising new Internet Literary Journal: 
Unshod Quills, edited by Dena Rash Guzman. 

10 September 2011: As you can see, Ygdrasil has a new appearance. A new banner has 
been graciously created by Michael Parker and the site has been updated to bring it 
into accordance. All previous issues are now in the Previous Issues page and all 
special feature issues have been identified. Redundant pages have been removed and 
everything has been brought up to date. Hope you enjoy the new look.

10 September 2011: The September issue is now available.


18 March 2011: Susan McMaster has been shortlisted as a candidate for Poet Laureate of Ottawa.
Ygdrasil strongly supports this endeavour. To that end the Susan McMaster special issue has been 
posted below.  

13 March 2011: A link to Poetry Victims has been added to Recommended Sites.

5 March 2011: The March issue of Ygdrasil is now available. Also available: the 12th Spanish issue featuring the 
Poetry of Carlos Salem.

5 January 2011: Gail Taylor informs me that her new book, Tornado and Other Seasons, is now available 
from Punkin House Press at http://www.punkinbooks.com . Her short story Caravan was published in the 
May 2010 issue of Ygdrasil.

31 December 2010: I have posted an update to the Cats of Parliament Hill blog by Brian Caines.

5 July 2008: A note from the Editor.

Ygdrasil's submission guidelines are such: Ascii text in the 
body of an email unless otherwise requested - special issues can be negotiated 
as to other formats. Currently I receive up to 200+ submissions a week, therefore	 
I will no longer reply to each submission, but 
request that if your submission has not been published in the next three 
issues, please either resubmit or submit elsewhere.

    Klaus Gerken
    Editor and Founder of Ygdrasil, A Journal of the Poetic Arts

    Klaus Gerken, born Cuxhaven, Germany, 1949. Came to Canada age 9, 1958. First published work, Dynasty 1968. Since then over 100 titles, Poems, Plays and Novels. Many available on this site. Editor and Founder of Ygdrasil, A Journal of the Poetic Arts (1993). Residence: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

    Heather Ferguson
    Production Editor

    Heather Ferguson lives in Ottawa, Canada. Her work has been anthologized in Symbiosis and Sounds New, and has appeared in Arc, Ygdrasil, Alter Vox and the Ottawa XPress. She is the author of the chapbook A Mouse in a Top Hat. Heather produced an anthology and two books of poetry through her press, Agawa. She is the Athens group's webmaster.

    Mois Benarroch
    European Editor

    Mois Benarroch was born in 1959 in Tetuan/Morocco, between Tangier and Gibraltar. He grew up in a mixture of cultures and languages, Spanish being his mother tongue, attending a French school, hearing the Arabic of the streets and praying in Hebrew. In 1972 He emigrated to israel, and lives since then in Jerusalem. Published books in Hebrew: The Immigrant's Lament (poetry) 1994. The Coming Book (prose) 1997. The Bread And The Dream (poetry) 1998. His poems and prose have been published in numerous publications in Israeli literary magazines, and international magazines, recently in Ygdrasil, Perihelion, Miller's Pond, Revue Europe, Emotions, Xero, The Poet's Guild Quarterly, Poetry magazine. His works have been published in hebrew, spanish, french and english. He writes in Hebrew, Spanish and English. He is Ygdrasil's European editor, and has e-published a book in Ygdrasil titled 'Moben's Poems' in English. His first novel 'Benshawen' will be published in 1999. And a book of poems in Spanish will be published by Esquio in Spain.
