Interruption of Pension and Compensation Web Application Services

November 2012

In December 2012, Pension and Compensation Web Application (CWA) Services will be temporarily unavailable while the final step of the Government of Canada Pension Modernization Project is implemented.

Compensation Web Applications

All CWA tools will be unavailable from close of business Friday, December 14 until Monday, December 17. During the weekend you will not have access to any such tools, including:

  • Pay information;
  • Insurance benefit information; and
  • Personalized pension tools.

Some of the CWA tools will continue to be unavailable until January 2, 2013, including:

  • Personalized pension tools; and
  • CWA enrolment (for people who currently do not have access).

Even though personalized pension tools will be unavailable, you will still be able to do some estimates on your own by using this Basic Pension Calculator.

Pension Services via the Government of Canada Pension Centre

From December 14 until January 2, pension services will be available and pension experts will be available to answer calls. However, very few pension tools will be available, limiting their ability to respond to client inquiries.

During the interruption period, the centre will not be able to perform the following services:

  • Account modification;
  • Benefit estimation;
  • Retirement benefits set-up;
  • Leave Without Pay services;
  • Service buyback; and
  • Processing of Public Service Health Care forms.

To avoid delays, especially if you are planning to retire soon, submit requests and documentation as early as possible. Essential services, like Supplementary Death Benefit payments, will continue to be provided throughout this period.
