Printer/Copier NMSO Pricing and Configuration Guide (www)

The Best Value Grid is a table with the printer/copier offering the Best Value for the default configuration for each commitment period in each category (based on standard volumes) highlighted in yellow.

The table details the Fixed Monthly Rate and the Meter Click Rate(s) for each NMSO printer/copier configuration as well as the Evaluated Cost (from the financial evaluation) and the Overall Benchmark Score.

Clicking on any of the model names will allow you to choose from three options:

  • Annex B – Technical Details offering a full description of the NMSO printer/copier configuration offered at the rates quoted, as well as the equipment's optional capacities;
  • Annex C – Financial Details including rates for the network connectable NMSO printer/copier configuration as well as for the unconnected copier-only version, and the rates and purchase prices (if applicable) for any options or supplies offered;
  • the Add Options and Recalculate functionality, which allows for the calculation of costs for non-standard configurations.

PWGSC recognizes that the NMSO configurations may not suit all requirements and ecourages users to recalculate the Value Factor for their particular requirement using the tools and assistance provided by the Imaging Product Management Group.

Factors affecting whether or not a model provides Best Value include:

  1. Availability of required options, capabilities or connectivity;
  2. Availability of adequate supply and the ability of the vendor to meet the required delivery date;
  3. Actual usage volumes.  Clients should determine the Best Value using their actual printing and copying volumes, as the evaluation volumes used in the Value Factor calculations may not reflect the client's usage volumes.

For assistance in calculating Best Value for non-standard volumes or configurations, please call the Imaging Product Management Group at 604-775-7697

NMSO rates are based on a quantity of one. Better rates using economies of scale can be achieved using the Request for Volume Discount procedure detailed in Annex I of the Terms and Conditions. Call-ups for over the Call-up Limitation of $200,000.00 for a single unit may be processed using the Departmental Call-up procedure also detailed in Annex I.

While there are several categories of high speed printer/copiers (80 ppm and above) available from this Standing Offer, this equipment begins to move into the range of commercial production machines. Identified Users should determine before ordering this level of equipment whether it would be more cost effective to send volume print jobs out to commercial printers. Identified Users still wishing to acquire models with speeds of 80 ppm or above are encouraged to consult with PWGSC before calling up the equipment and should have a Business Case on file, approved at the departmental level, with a detailed description of the printing and copying volumes being addressed and any other factors used in the decision to acquire the equipment.

For information on preparing a business case, see the "Make or Buy" guidelines on the Treasury Board web site.
