Statement regarding death of Public Works and Government Services Canada employee

We regretfully announce that the Public Works and Government Services Canada employee, who was critically injured in yesterday’s explosion at the Cliff Heating Plant, passed away this morning.

The Government of Canada sends out its thoughts and sincerest condolences to his family and colleagues.

The employee’s name is not being released at this time.

The cause and damage resulting from this incident are under investigation and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
