Basking in the glow

OTTAWA, Ontario, Thursday, October 11, 2012 – The Centennial Flame's glow is just visible in front of the Peace Tower on Parliament Hill, lit up in celebration of the first ever International Day of the Girl. Around the world, various events were held to showcase the work that people are doing to empower girls through active support and engagement with parents, families, and the wider community.
