New Petroleum Standards Spring 2013

The Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB) has published several new petroleum standards for spring 2013.

New Edition - CAN/CGSB-3.517-2013 Diesel Fuel
This new edition replaces the 2007 edition titled Automotive (on-road) diesel fuel to reflect both on-road an off-road uses of this fuel type. The standard also addresses the limits of Fatty Acid Alkyl Esters permitted in fuel.

New Edition - CAN/CGSB-3.2-2013 Heating Fuel Oil
This new edition replaces the 2011 edition. The revision of CAN/CGSB-3.2 allows use of the new standard CAN/CGSB 3.524 Biodiesel (B100) for Blending in Middle Distillate Fuels.

New Edition - CAN/CGSB-3.14-2013 Propane for Fuel Purposes
This new edition replaces the 2006 edition. This revision addresses several technical changes in the use of propane for fuel and including the title of Liquefied Petroleum Gas.

Amendments-
CAN/CGSB-3.23-2013 Aviation Turbine Fuel (Grades JET A and Jet A-1)
and CGSB-3.24-2013 Aviation Turbine Fuel (Military Grades F-34 and F-44)
These amendments reflect industry changes in the synthetic blending component requirements.
