Using .pdf files for forms and publications

If you have a PDF software reader, you will be able to view, print, or download these documents.

If you do not have a PDF software reader, you can download and install any one of these free PDF software programs below:

If you prefer to convert PDF documents to HTML, Adobe offers conversion tools.

If the PDF document is not accessible to you, or if you have difficulty downloading forms on this Web site, please contact the Contact Us - Government of Canada Pension Centre for assistance.

  • View and print

    With your PDF reader, you can view and print .pdf files just as you would any word-processing file. When the reader is installed on your computer, simply click on the hyperlink that leads to the .pdf file.

  • Download

    There are two ways to download a .pdf file onto your computer.

    • When you are at a hyperlink to the .pdf file but have not yet opened the file:
      • Microsoft Internet Explorer®: Right-click on the hyperlinked .pdf file name and select "Save Target As". Then save the document in any directory and access the file with your Reader.
      • Netscape™: Right-click on the hyperlink and select "Save Link As". Then save the document in any directory and access the file with your Reader.
    • When you have already opened the .pdf file:
      • Microsoft Internet Explorer®: Select "File" and then "Save As" in your Web browser's toolbar. Then save the document in any directory and access the file with your Reader.
      • Netscape™: Select "File" and then "Open page" in your Web browser's toolbar. In the menu box, select "Choose file" and save the document in any directory. Make sure the file specification says "All types." Access the file with your Reader.

Using HTML files for publications

  • View
    Click on a hyperlinked word(s) or image to access the HTML file it is linked to.
  • Print
    Once you have accessed an HTML file, select "File" and then "Print" in your Web browser's toolbar.
  • Download
    Once you have accessed an HTML file, select "File" and then "Save As" in your Web browser's toolbar and save in a directory.
