Pay Transformation Initiative: April 2011 No. 4

Progress on Union Management Consultations

The Terms of Reference for the Transformation of Pay Administration Initiative Union Management Consultation Committee (TPA-UMCC) have been finalized and signed. The Committee will have its second meeting on May 26, 2011.

As reported in the February edition of the newsletter a TPA-UMCC subcommittee has been setup to discuss project progress with the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC). The first meeting of this subcommittee was held on April 27. A detailed update on the progress of the Consolidation of Pay Services Project was provided to PSAC representatives who asked questions and shared their concerns with the project team. The meeting was productive and it was decided that the subcommittee would meet on a monthly basis. The next subcommittee meeting is planned for mid June.

Engagement and Communication

Monthly communication to the compensation community (through Compensation Focus: Transformation) and to Heads of Human Resources (HR) through HR Council are continuing as promised. Cross-country speaking engagements are also planned for the fall to engage with the Compensation community and provide further updates on the project.

The Public Works and Government Services Canada presentation to the Public Service Management Advisory Committee (PSMAC) to provide Deputy Ministers with an update on the Transformation of Pay Administration (TPA) scheduled for March 25 was postponed and held on April 29, 2011. The presentation was well received by the Committee.
