Military and Marine Procurement

Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) is Canada’s largest public sector purchaser, acting as a procurement agent for more than 100 departments and agencies. As per the Defence Production Act (DPA), PWGSC has the exclusive authority to acquire defence supplies on behalf of the Department of National Defence. Under the DPA the term "defence supplies" includes ships of all kinds. Also acting as procurement agent for the Canadian Coast Guard, PWGSC is responsible for all aspects of the procurement and acquisition process.
