What Information Do I Need to Enrol in Direct Deposit?

  • Your name, address and date of birth
  • Your payment type(s) and the associated personal identifier(s), for example: your Social Insurance Number (SIN) or your file number; and
  • A "Void" cheque or your bank account information.

How Can I Enrol?

Complete a form

You can enrol by completing a single form for one or several of the following Government of Canada payments:

  • Canada Child Tax Benefit (CCTB)
  • Canada Pension Plan (CPP)
  • Goods and Services Tax (GST)/Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) Credits
  • Government of Canada Annuities
  • Old Age Security (OAS)
  • Tax Refunds
  • Universal Child Care Benefit (UCCB)
  • Veterans Allowance and Benefits

You can enrol at most banks.

  • Most banks in Canada will be pleased to assist you in completing a single enrolment form for one or several of your Government of Canada payments. Ask your teller about direct deposit during your next visit.
