Trilateral Public Procurement Forum

On November 17–18, 2015, Canada hosted the fourth Trilateral Public Procurement Forum between Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Meetings are held once a year and hosted on a rotational basis between the partners. The intent of the meetings is to build and foster a relationship between the participating countries and to explore subjects of common interest and share best practices related to public procurement.

Together Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom will examine effective approaches to common procurement and will share best practices for public purchasing.

Membership is composed of the Federal Acquisitions Service, General Services Administration (GSA) (U.S.); the U.S. Office of Federal Procurement Policy (OFPP), the Crown Commercial Services Office (CCS) (U.K.); and Acquisitions Branch, Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) (Canada).

All three countries agreed to jointly develop a Statement of Affirmation that outlines the shared commitment to collaborate on issues of common interest:

Trilateral Public Procurement Forum Statement of Affirmation – Through our shared commitment to developing and promoting innovations that lead to more efficient and effective public procurement, the United States, United Kingdom and Canada shall work collaboratively to modernize procurement, share best practices, identify savings and ensure value for taxpayers in all aspects of procurement.

The next Trilateral Public Procurement Forum will be held in October 2016 in Washington, DC.
