National Goods and Services Procurement Strategies

We are currently reviewing 29 categories of goods and services, and developing national procurement strategies in order to help reduce barriers for suppliers and provide the department with the information needed to better manage the whole procurement process.

In line with Smart Procurement principles, the department is consulting with industry, suppliers and government departments to develop each of these strategies.

Our role as a strategic service provider is to review and renew how we do procurement. In order to enhance our services, we are working to understand departments' needs and industry capacity through robust engagement and consultation.

Aligning demand and supply to achieve best value is critical to help departments be as efficient and effective as they can be in delivering their mandates. By aligning the way the Government of Canada buys with the way industry sells, PWGSC will maximize value while stimulating the economy.
