- The Close out document for space projects and the Close out document for asset, other government department and tenant service projects were updated to align with the National Project Management System real property thresholds matrix, and to indicate the location of the NPMS deliverables documents in the Electronic project filing structure v3.0
- The terms of reference for the Real property project Management Improvement Steering Committee were updated
- A new Prime consultant start-up meeting agenda was published

For real property project users:
- The National Project Management System Directive for real property projects was updated in June 2016 to change the terminology "Preliminary Project Approval/Effective Project Approval" to "Project Approval/Expenditure Authority"
Other changes were brought to align Annex A—Project approval bodies for National Project Management System full, lite, and ultra lite control points (asset and space projects) and Annex B—Process for tenant service projects and for projects funded by other government departments with the National Project Management System real property thresholds matrix
- Three directives under the Quality management knowledge area were updated:
- The Identification close out documents for asset projects and for space projects were updated to align with the National Project Management System real property thresholds matrix, and to indicate the location of the NPMS deliverables documents in the Electronic project filing structure v3.0
- A new Construction Start-Up Meeting Checklist was published, as part of the Procurement Management Manual

- Two new templates for Short Form Investment Analysis Report are now available:
- The National Project Management System Directive on lessons learned for real property projects was updated to clarify the responsibilities of the National Gate Keeper and Regional Gate Keeper, and to explain how the lessons learned reports should be stored

- The Close out document for space projects and the Close out document for asset, other government department and tenant service projects were updated
- The National Project Management System real property projects thresholds matrix is now divided into a matrix for asset, other government department and tenant service projects, and a matrix for space projects
- The Lease projects roadmap - Delivery stage was updated

- The Annex 1—National Project Management System Compliance Review Form and Annex 2—National Project Management System Compliance Review Report Template of the Procedure for the Monitoring of National Project Management System Compliance were updated (change in project category)
- The Introduction section of the Project Charter Template - Space Based Projects with Fit-Up template was modified to eliminate the reference to the Preliminary Project Plan
- The Mechanical and Maintenance Engineering technical guide was updated to include the reference to new publications

For real property project users:
- Annexes of the National Project Management System Directive for real property projects were updated to specify that approval of revised deliverables is required at the same level of authority as the one needed for the original document
- The Cost Management diagram, along with the definitions of construction cost estimate were updated to highlight the importance of obtaining a Class B (substantive) cost estimate to obtain Expenditure Authority (EA)

- A new page on Project Reporting has been added, including the definitions of the key performance indicator (KPI): on time, on scope and on budget (OTOBOS)
- The Guidelines for the Preparation of Project Plans have been updated (Quality Management section and addition of a revision history table)
- The Identification Close Out Documents (ICOD) for Space Projects and for Asset Projects have been updated to identify the new NPMS Deliverables requirements for NPMS Lite, and also to add the Preliminary Workplace 2.0 Accreditation Evaluation Grid
- The Other Government Department Design-Bid-Build Projects Roadmap has been updated to include the assessment of the duty to consult with Aboriginal groups
- The Asset Projects Roadmap and the Space Projects Roadmap have been updated with the assessment of the duty to consult with Aboriginal groups, the designation of project as Capital or Repair, and the requirements for Workplace 2.0 accreditation

For real property project users:
- A new section on Specialized Areas was added to include the matters of interest for the Public Services and Procurement Canada Real Property context that are not covered in the standard Project Management Institute (PMI) knowledge areas for construction projects. This section includes the National Project Management System Procedure on Managing Projects for Heritage Properties, and the Aboriginal Consultation and Accommodation (duty to consult)
- The Product Turn-over (PTO) page and Close Out Document (COD) have been updated to reflect that:
- For Asset Project funded by PSPC in crown-owned building: PTO is the Certificate of Substantial Performance (Interim)
- For OGD Asset Project: PTO is the Certificate of Substantial Performance + Other Government Department Client Acceptance Letter
- For Space Project: PTO is the Interim Certificate of Completion of Lessee's Improvements
- For Lease Projects, the client acceptance is the Occupancy Instrument (OI)
- For Crown Projects, the OI is tenant acceptance and the sign off on the COD by the Project Leader is the client acceptance that the project is complete

- The National Project Management System Directive for real property projects was updated to introduce a new threshold to minimize the overhead tied to small projects. The National Project Management System Real Property Project Thresholds Matrix was also posted to summarize the required NPMS deliverables for NPMS Full, Lite, Ultra Lite and OGD projects
- A new Design-Build Projects Delivery Stage Roadmap was published. Also, the Design-Bid-Build Projects Roadmap was updated to incorporate road construction activities, and new requirements for Workplace 2.0 accreditation
- The Scope Management Knowledge Area has been updated to include the new National Project Management System Real Property Procedure on Scope Management

- The Project Approval Bodies listed in Annex A and B of the National Project Management System Directive for real property projects has been updated to better reflect the current organization
- The National Project Management System Model for real property projects was modified to include Project Complexity and Risk Assessment (PCRA) and Project Charter in the diagram
- An updated version of the Project Complexity and Risk Assessment Manual is now available
- The Cost Management Knowledge Area has been updated to include the new Real Property Procedure on Cost Management as well as a new Cost Management diagram
