Architect

Description: As an architect, you will be responsible for providing strategic professional advice and recommendations to asset portfolio investors and real property project teams that have the responsibility of delivering services in support of large or significant projects. You will also be expected to provide strategic advice regarding the development of project definition documentation, including developing statements of work, requests for proposal and related deliverables. This position requires a degree in architecture from a recognized post-secondary institution and at least 7 years of experience in providing professional services in this discipline.

Building systems technician

Description: As a building systems technician, you will be responsible for the provision of essential services, scheduled preventative maintenance tasks and the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment associated with heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, water and plumbing within the National Capital Region. Carpenter

Ceremonial storesperson

Description: As a ceremonial storesperson, you will be responsible for providing advice and logistical support for the installation of ceremonial equipment (like flags and red carpets) for special events and foreign dignitary visits, while supporting the daily operations of a warehouse, including, but not limited to, inventory and maintenance of equipment. This position requires lifting and installing heavy equipment (such as exterior bases weighing 90 pounds) and being exposed to inclement weather. Electrician

General technician

Description: As a general technician, you will be responsible for providing a full range of technical and logistical advice and support services for conferences and events. The work includes setting up, configuring and operating technical systems for events, as well as setting up chairs, tables, stages and other furniture required for events in conference facilities managed by Public Services and Procurement Canada. You must have experience working with audiovisual and multimedia systems, such as webcasting, teleconferencing, videoconferencing, public address systems, video, simultaneous interpretation, and other technologies used for conferences, meetings and major events. As a general technician, you must be able to work with floor plans and specifications and provide technical advice to clients and management. Candidates must be bilingual, able to lift equipment and furniture upwards of 22.5 kilograms (50 pounds), hold and maintain a valid driver’s licence (G class in Ontario, or equivalent in other provinces and territories), be willing to work overtime often and on short notice and be eligible for a secret clearance. Head, Electrical

Classification: GL-EIM-13 D4

Description: As the head of the electrical section, you will be responsible for planning, organizing and controlling the daily operations of the electrical shop for maintenance and repair projects. You will also be responsible for maintaining a preventive maintenance support program for electrical equipment and systems, as well as supervising and assigning work to the foreman and electricians. This position requires a secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience, as well as a valid provincial or interprovincial electrical certificate of qualification.

Heavy equipment operator

Hourly wage: $23.46 to $25.48
Description: As a heavy equipment operator, you will be responsible for operating specialized heavy motorized equipment, such as hydraulic cranes and hoists, hydraulic tail gates, dump trucks, hydraulic aerial trucks, front-end loaders and backhoes for digging, cutting, clearing, moving, spreading grading, leveling and compacting earth, sand, gravel, stone and other materials. A valid provincial operators’ licence (Ontario Class “A” or Quebec Class 21) is required.

Heritage stone mason

Classification: GL-PCF-09

Description: As a heritage stone mason, you will be responsible for conserving, restoring and repairing interior and exterior stonework of government buildings in the National Capital Region, particularly those that are of significant historical and architectural importance. A valid provincial or interprovincial bricklayer licence or an international heritage stone mason certificate of qualification is required for this position.

Horticultural technician

Description: As a horticultural technician, you will be responsible for developing and managing various contracts for interior and exterior landscape projects (plants/trees/grass, removal of snow/ice/debris) as well as providing expert advice on living perishable assets (plants). You will also be responsible for managing contracts and monitoring services provided by contractors. You will need to know the applicable federal and provincial acts and regulations. This position requires a 2-year college diploma in horticulture.

Junior estimator and construction contract specialist

Maintenance analyst

Description: As a maintenance analyst, you will be responsible for data integrity and quality control for all inputs into the computerized maintenance system. You will also be expected to verify work ticket completion, run system-wide audits and verify that the mandated and life cycle maintenance is being completed on schedule and as per the checklists. You will provide end user support as a subject matter expert on both the computerized maintenance system and preventative maintenance. Mover/installer/driver

Plumber

Property and facilities manager

Description: As a property and facilities manager, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of building and installation services for the Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) space inventory. This includes the management of financial resources, human resources, client relations, negotiations and space allocation. In addition, you will provide expert advice and leadership to the PSPC senior administration, staff and clients, on short- and long-term property management, as well as the performance of those properties; contract dispute resolution; health and safety policies; environmental initiatives; security priorities; best practices; and resource maximization. Description: As a property and facilities officer, you will be responsible for assisting management in delivering services to clients occupying space managed by Public Services and Procurement Canada. This includes client and project management (for example, renovations and repairs), while considering the applicable policies, regulations and costs. You will also be responsible for providing expert advice on property suitability, price negotiation and lease agreements. You could be coordinating a wide range of initiatives for buildings. This position also involves continual problem resolution. A secondary school diploma, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience, is required.

Senior maintenance management specialist (Vertical)

Annual salary: $72,406 to $88,091
Description: As the senior maintenance management specialist, you will be responsible for developing and managing contracts for the maintenance and operation of elevators. You will also provide expert advice and support to clients and develop recommendations on this subject matter. This position includes financial responsibilities and employee management. You will have responsibilities in regard to the health and safety of your projects. This position requires a secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience, as well as an Elevating Device Mechanics certificate of qualification from Ontario or an equivalency recognized by the Technical Standards and Safety Authority.

Traffic sign writer

Classification: GL-PCF-07
Hourly wage: $27.88 to $30.32
Description: As a traffic sign writer, you will be responsible for making and installing traffic control, parking and associated signs by laying out and stenciling letters, figures and designs on metal, wood and plastic surfaces. You will also be responsible for planning and laying out exterior and indoor parking surfaces relative to the installation of parking and traffic flow signs and lines. On occasion, you will install flags as well as barricades for state visits. This position requires a secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
