(OTTAWA) Nov. 7, 2007 - With the country entering the second session of its 39th Parliament, Canadians are even more interested in information about politics and the history of democracy. Library and Archives Canada holds the nation's records and is responding to this interest through a new initiative on Canada's democratic experience, called the Forum on Canadian Democracy.
The Forum is in two parts. The first part consists of a website, which will highlight key LAC collections, expertise and be a venue for specialists across Canada to contribute their knowledge.
The second part of the Forum is a live programming agenda where public-speaking engagements and exhibitions, conferences, symposia and other events will promote civic dialogue among diverse academic, educational and professional audiences.
Watch for upcoming announcements during the month of November to learn more the Forum on Canadian Democracy at Library and Archives Canada.
