QUEBEC, August 11, 2008 - Yesterday, at the opening ceremonies of the IFLA 2008 conference in Quebec City, Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaelle Jean, Governor General of Canada, receives the first copy of the publication Reaching Out: Innovations in Canadian Libraries from Mme Lise Bissonnette, CEO of Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Quebec and Ian E. Wilson, Librarian and Archivist of Canada. The publication, which brings together stories written by 40 different librarians across the country, illustrates the creativity and the sense of innovation of Canadian libraries. The book is being officially launched during the conference on Monday, August 11. The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) has attracted more than 4,000 librarians from 120 countries from August 10 - 14 in Quebec City.
