New Books Service

The New Books Service (NBS) of Library and Archives Canada (LAC) is a Web resource for the latest information on current and forthcoming Canadian books.

Records in the NBS database are created from information received from publishers through the Cataloguing in Publication (CIP) program coordinated by LAC. Publishers are encouraged to supplement the entries for their titles in the NBS database with material such as cover art, contents, sample text, reviews, and background information on authors and illustrators.

Each month, readers can browse new releases by subject to find recent books, to locate Canadian booksellers, to order titles, to search a database of Canadian publishers, or to connect to LAC's AMICUS database for a broader search of its full online catalogue.
