Portrait Gallery of Canada Hosts Curator's Tour of
Portraits on the Ice Exhibition

Ms. Lilly Koltun, Director General of the Portrait Gallery of Canada, would like to invite you to a media tour of the exhibition Portraits on the Ice on Thursday, February 5, 2009. It will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Ottawa's Rideau Canal Skateway under the Bank Street Bridge. Hot chocolate will be served!

From an action portrait of Olympic champion speed skater Gaétan Boucher to self-portraits of Yousuf Karsh and Emily Carr, Ms. Koltun will provide insight into the stories behind these important works from the national portrait collection of Library and Archives Canada.

A collaboration with the National Capital Commission, Portraits on the Ice features 10 portrait reproductions. The exhibition will be in place throughout the month of February during Winterlude celebrations in Ottawa.
