The ISS contract includes the construction of a training facility and the provision of simulators and a training suite.
The primary objective of the Medium-to Heavy-Lift Helicopter (MHLH) Project is to provide the Canadian Forces with medium-to-heavy-lift helicopters to move personnel and equipment by air to meet a wide range of government-mandated tasks to support special domestic, global and in-theatre lift operations by acquiring 15 new medium-to-heavy-lift helicopters. The Project also includes the provision of ISS for an initial 20-year period with an option to extend the ISS beyond the initial 20 years to the life expectancy of the helicopters.
