Real Property Business and Systems Transformation - NOVUS
The Real Property Business and Systems Transformation (RPBST) Project is a key contributor towards the continual improvement of Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) Real Property Branch (RPB). The RPBST Project includes the national adoption of industry-standard real estate business processes supported by an integrated information technology system. Targeted for release in early 2014, the combined solution – known as NOVUS - will improve efficiency and effectiveness in the way that Real Property employees carry out their day-to-day duties.
In June 2012, the RPBST Project team received Effective Project Approval (EPA) allowing it to proceed with the project implementation phase, leveraging Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) software to meet federal Real Property management requirements.
To meet the core business needs of Real Property, NOVUS must provide support for:
- Stewardship and service delivery functions by providing reliable information to demonstrate performance, and through improved information interoperability with private sector service providers;
- Enterprise decision-making by providing complete, accurate and timely information to support effective and strategic decisions; and,
- Resource efficiency through the automation, integration and alignment of real property functions resulting in increased productivity.
Ultimately, the NOVUS solution will help PWGSC Real Property find better ways of working, enhance decision making and reporting. It will allow Real Property to achieve more and obtain better results.
